At the ERGOTRAK facilities today, Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the official delivery of five (5) DAF FAD XDc 450 trucks, equipped with 18.4 m³ CANTONI tipping bodies from Italy, took place to the construction group AVAX.

This delivery is part of an agreement for the gradual supply of a total of eleven (11) vehicles of the same type. The new trucks will significantly strengthen AVAX’s fleet, supporting the seamless and efficient execution of its projects.

The DAF FAD XDc 450 trucks are distinguished by their high levels of performance, reliability, and durability under demanding construction site conditions. Additionally, the 18.4 m³ CANTONI tipping equipment contributes to optimizing transport capacity and operational efficiency.

As part of the delivery, an extensive driver training program was conducted, initially at the ERGOTRAK facilities, aimed at ensuring full familiarization with the technical features and operation of the vehicles. Training will continue on-site in Ioannina, at the construction site where the trucks will operate, ensuring their full potential is realized under real working conditions.

ERGOTRAK, a member of the Sfakianakis Group, has delivered a new DAF XD 450 FAD 8×4 Euro 6 truck-mounted crane vehicle to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, specifically to the Hellenic Coast Guard (HCG). The procurement was financed through resources of the Green Fund – Special Account “Blue Fund.”
This delivery significantly enhances the equipment of the Hellenic Coast Guard, supporting operational missions in port and coastal areas, particularly for the transportation of anti-pollution equipment as well as the installation and removal of propulsion engines and equipment for patrol vessels throughout Greek territory.

DAF’s New Generation XD and XF Electric trucks have been awarded ‘International Truck of the Year 2026’. Harald Seidel, president of DAF Trucks, received the most prestigious award in the truck industry tonight during an award ceremony at the Solutrans exhibition in Lyon, France. It is the third win for DAF in only 5 years’ time, after the New Generation XF/XG/XG⁺ and XD became ‘International Truck of the Year’ for 2022 and 2023.

In line with the rules of the International Truck of the Year (IToY) organisation, the title is awarded annually to the vehicle introduced in the previous 12 months that has made the greatest contribution to road transport efficiency. The assessment covers a range of criteria, including technological innovation, comfort, safety, drivability, energy efficiency, environmental performance and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Praised for exceptional efficiency

The jury of 23 leading commercial vehicle journalists from across Europe praised DAF’s XD and XF Electric truck series for their exceptional energy efficiency, refined yet powerful driveline, and advanced technical architecture. Furthermore, the award-winning vehicles were recognized for their long driving ranges, advantageous LFP battery technology, and superior driver comfort.

Zero emission range up to over 500 kilometers

The XD and XF Electric trucks are powered by PACCAR’s advanced EX-D1 and EX-D2 e-motors, delivering outputs from 170 kW (230 hp) to 350 kW (480 hp). With modular battery packs ranging from 210 to 525 kWh, the 4×2 and 6×2 tractor and rigid vehicles offer zero-emission ranges of over 500 kilometers on a single charge, and even over 1,000 kilometers per day thought optimal charging planning.

DAF’s XD and XF Electric trucks are designed for both city and regional distribution and long distance applications, combining excellent aerodynamics with a low cab position, ultra-low window beltlines, and advanced digital camera systems for superior safety and visibility.

ERGOTRAK, a member of the Sfakianakis Group, has successfully completed the delivery of a state-of-the-art crane truck to the Hellenic Police, under a contract signed with the Ministry of Citizen Protection.

The vehicle, a DAF XD 450 FA (8×2), is equipped with a 449 hp turbocharged engine, producing 2,350 Nm of torque and a displacement of 10,837 cc, featuring an advanced Turbo-Intercooler system.
